More Beer!

What challenges are there to hooking up multiple kegs at the same time? I currently have 6 beers on tap served from a cold room. I assume you'd need 6 different flow controls. In the future, I also plan to add one soda keg, and 2 wine kegs. The wine would have to be dispensed at a different quanitity obviously.

  • Hmm, sounds like an enviable setup! You could try to use one flowmeter, ie, have a union of several beer lines dispensing through a common tap. But multiple meters is really the way to go. Someone on the kegbot-dev list was also wondering, a while back, on what to do about multiple taps with respect to access control (ie, how do you enable only one tap? manually? separate key readers?) These are all pretty solvable issues, though the current microcontroller would need some external logic to support several meters at once.. cheers.. --Mike 08:24, 25 Mar 2005 (EST)

Fingerprint scanner?

I know we talked about this briefly in the email string, mike, or anyone know if a fingerprint scanner could be used for this? I think this would be perfect for security purposes, as well as it ensures people don't forget their keys.
