What is a Kegbot?

A Kegbot is a beer kegerator equipped with tracking and access control devices. You can track how much people drink, control when they may drink, track costs and charge people different amounts, and see how much beer is left in your keg. Kegbot is an open-source project, in spirit and in software.

Project News

Updated Sep 2 2008

The Kegbot project has been in a bit of disrepair for quite a while. Thankfully, the maintainer finally has his mojo back and a variety of improvements are well underway:

  • The main wiki (this site) has been de-spammed and is being cleaned up
  • The entire codebase is being cleaned up and rewritten over at the google code site
    • Check out a recent keg at the San Francisco kegbot, using the new Django-based frontend
  • A new kegboard has been tested, based on the very easy-to-use Arduino platform.
  • A new site will be launched at kegbot.org, with clear documentation and resources for newbiews

For the time being, the kegbot-dev mailing list is offline due to a server move. The archives are are being converted to a discussion forum, and will be posted here shortly. Stay tuned.
